SHIELD BRINGS CUSTOM SOLID SURFACE LOCKER DESIGN TO THE WNBA

In 2021, New York Liberty, in partnership with Shawmut Design, began renovation of their 6,000 square foot locker room and lounge at Barclays Center. Generator Studio was named the architect on the project, and Shield Lockers was tapped to manufacture the lockers.

Shield worked collaboratively with Generator Studio and the Barclays Center facilities team to deliver 18 player lockers and 8 coaches lockers truly unique to the needs of the New York Liberty, as well as Barclays Center. The lockers feature a solid surface build, laminate back, and acrylic pivot-pocketing door. Additional features include: backlit player nameplate, toe kick and locker body lighting, custom door handle, floating acrylic shoe displays, locking drawer with digital lock, and perforated soft-close drawers.

In total, 26 lockers found their new home in Barclays Center, setting the standard for the WNBA.
