SHIELD'S FIRST ROWING LOCKER
In 2019, University of Texas Athletics began construction of the Moody Center, a brand new $375 million arena serving as the new home of Longhorns basketball and rowing. Gensler was named the architect on the project, ISEC the lead contractor, and Shield Lockers was tapped to manufacture the rowing lockers.
Shield worked collaboratively with the architect firm, general contractor, and UT Athletics to deliver 119 player lockers truly unique to the Longhorns. Along with the rowing lockers shield also created coach and z-style lockers for the center. The lockers feature a solid surface build and a laminate back. Additional features include:
- Acrylic nameplate
- Solid surface door with digital lock
- Etched and color-infilled logo
- Integrated USB and power
In total, 119 lockers found their new home in the new Moody Center, giving the Longhorns a competitive edge for training and recruiting.
