In 2021, Vanderbilt University Athletics began renovating the men's and women's basketball locker rooms at the historic Memorial Gymnasium. Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) was named the Architect, and Shield was tapped to manufacture the lockers.

Shield worked collaboratively with the GMC and the university's athletic department to deliver 35 player lockers truly unique to the needs of Vanderbilt Commodores basketball. The lockers feature a solid surface build and laminate back. Additional features include routed color-infilled logo, integrated USB and power, inductive charging, backlit acrylic nameplate, jersey and toe kick lighting, locking drawer with digital lock, and perforated soft-close bench drawer. The men's lockers featured a routed, color-infilled solid surface door, and the women's featured frosted acrylic doors with custom pulls.

In total, 35 lockers found their new home at Memorial Gymnasium, setting the bar for recovery and recruitment in the SEC basketball space.
