[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Shield’s approach to delivering world-class athletic lockers is consultative and customer-service focused from the beginning. We listen to our client’s needs and build custom lockers as unique and dynamic as the teams they’re for.
Penn State wanted to build the first all-solid-surface football locker, but they were told it couldn’t be done. When Penn State came to us, the project team chose our build not only because we could deliver exactly what the wanted, but also because they loved the clean, modern look of the white solid surface and its long-lasting durability. Where others can’t, Shield can.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8254″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Penn State’s locker is pretty tall, with a large soffit detail with a projected player number coming down from the soffit. Custom lighting technology allows the player number to display on the outside of the locker and shut off when the doors are opened. It’s also 100% waterproof, durable solid surface. The locker is designed to be as clean and striking as the Penn State uniform from cleats to helmet: simple, memorable and easy to recognize.
Shield’s solid surface patents and expertise allowed us to bring this one-of-a-kind design to life, including creating the complex player jersey number lighting system. We worked with them through the mockup process and figured out how to make the first-ever solid surface football locker.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbwN64YhPOI”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
University of Arkansas Football
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A brand-new gameday locker room for University of Arkansas provided a few exciting challenges to Shield’s locker capabilities. These all solid-surface lockers are along the wall of a room shaped like a football, with the sides of the lockers designed to look like Razorback tusks. Shield’s challenge: how do you keep the sleek look without adding clunky filler or doubling up material?
Shield’s in-house engineering answered this by making each locker a trapezoid shape. By adding a few degrees more than square allowed each locker to share the tusk divider and seamlessly complete the arc of the room. Plus, the solid surface build allowed Shield to route in the Razorback logo into the white locker and fill it in the Arkansas red. Talk about wow factors.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8195″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Cleveland Cavaliers
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Cleveland Cavaliers’ lockers had a lot of personal detailing. A routed, backlit Cleveland skyline covers the bottom two locker drawers and the full height (and width) glass doors on the locker are patterned in a way to call back to the jersey design, complete with a custom handle that matches the glass pattern detailing. The lockers also include an inductive charging drawer, meaning you could just set your phone in there to charge, no plug-in needed.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8177″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So what’s the takeaway from these crazy-cool lockers? Well, we highly recommend a mockup, especially the big, custom locker jobs. When you’re looking at the locker on paper you don’t realize the scale of the locker. A mock up allows you to see some of the details—oh, I can’t actually reach this drawer—to get a feel for what you’re getting and make changes at that point.
Shield wants a locker that fits YOUR needs. Not every team or every sport has the same needs. We recognize that and love working with clients to help achieve a beautifully crafted and functional locker to last for years to come.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
